IJ- Integral Joint - Thread Plug and Ring Gages are used to measure the dimensions and quality of the threads on integral joint tubing. This is a type of pipe that has external and internal threads on both ends thus eliminating the need for couplings. Integral joint tubing is widely used in the oil and gas industry.
These integral joint gages have a double-step structure on the outer end of the external thread and inner end of the internally threaded parts which provides higher torque capacity. In addition, it provides improved sealing and connection strength over the conventional threaded and coupled connections.
They are manufactured in accordance with the API 5B specification, which covers the dimensions, tolerances, and marking requirements for casing, tubing and line pipe threads
IJ gages are available in different sizes, ranging from 1.050" to 4-1/2" for plug gages and from 1.315" to 4-1/2" for ring gages.
They are used to check the thread form, lead, height, and taper of the integral joint tubing connections.
Integral joint tubing can meet the requirements of both normal oil and gas extraction and special working condition of high torsional well repair acid fracturing operation. It can replace small drill rod and lower the cost of oil field operation.
