Product Details

Micrometer set masters are used to calibrate and set micrometers. The master is superior to gage block calibration because it does not require block stacks, making it much faster to inspect the linear range of the tool. It also indicates wear on the micrometer anvil because it replicates how the micrometer is actually used.

Micrometers, like any other piece of measuring equipment, need to be calibrated on a regular cycle. Gage blocks can accomplish this, but the practice is hard on the gage block surface, prematurely affects wringing ability, and requires significant operator skill. Gage blocks can also introduce errors when calibrating micrometers because a flat surface is measured rather than a diameter — which is typically what is being checked.

Models

  • Model 01-1 — .100" to 1.00" with .512" and .762" offset steps. The offset steps check the micrometer at 90° and 180° from the fixed anvil, verifying anvil parallelism. Stainless steel to reduce wear and prevent rust. Hardened, stabilized and ground to ±.0001".
  • Model 16-1 — 1.00" to 6.00" diameter in one-inch increments (25mm to 150mm in 25mm increments). Case hardened, stabilized and ground to ±.0001" or ±.0025mm.
  • Model 16-1/2 — 1/2" to 6.00" diameter in 1/2-inch increments (12.5mm to 150mm in 12.5mm increments). Case hardened, stabilized and ground to ±.0001" or ±.0025mm.
  • Model 112 — 1.00" to 12.00" diameter in one-inch increments (25mm to 300mm in 25mm increments). Case hardened, stabilized and ground to ±.0001" or ±.0025mm. Custom sizes available.

Micrometer set masters (except Model 01-1) are chrome plated to reduce wear and prevent rust. A long form certificate and a storage case are available for every model.
