Overview

The Starrett SR160 combines straightforward operation with significantly greater analysis capability than a basic Ra/Rz instrument, measuring Ra, Rz, Rp, Rv, Rt, Rz1Max, Rsk, Rq, Rku and additional profile parameters.

Two-Piece Design

The SR160's two-piece construction uses Bluetooth Low Energy between the measurement and display components. That separation is the instrument's main practical advantage: the operator can place the pickup on a surface that is awkward to reach or impossible to see while reading the display comfortably in hand.

Measurement and Operation

A diamond stylus with 5 µm radius and a piezoelectric pickup provide precision surface-finish measurement across a 40 µm / 1600 µin range, and the color graphical display presents both measurement results and the surface profile itself rather than a bare number.

Applications

Machined and ground surfaces, difficult-access inspection, tool and die work, incoming inspection and production quality control where more than Ra and Rz must be reported.
