Chamfer Gage or Countersink Gage?

Starrett distinguishes the two: a chamfer gage measures at the top edge of the chamfer, while a countersink gage seats on the angled surface and directly indicates the major diameter. Where a print calls a specific countersink angle — 82° for inch flat-head fasteners, 90° for metric, 100° for aerospace flush-fastener work — use the countersink gage cut to it.
