WESTport Carbide Helical NPT & NPTF Thread Mills are engineered for producing precision tapered pipe threads in demanding CNC machining applications. Unlike conventional pipe taps, thread mills generate threads using a helical interpolation process, significantly reducing cutting forces while improving thread accuracy and surface finish. This machining method is particularly beneficial when working with expensive workpieces, large-diameter threads, hardened materials, and applications where broken taps would result in costly scrap or production downtime.
