Portable hardness testers are used for checking the surface hardness of very large and hard materials. Test any material in almost any situation with the Phase II PHT-1700. It's small and light, so take it onsite and the large display makes reading results possible in any conditions. To take a reading, simply load the impact body, place it on the test piece (a flat or round surface), and then press the button to take the reading. The screen will immediately show the result, which can be automatically converted to Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers or Shore hardness scales. The Phase II portable hardness testers come in three models, each with different features:

    • PHT-1700: Ideal for testing the surface hardness of any flat or rounded metal surfaces. This model is an economical choice. Complete with a variety of features, the PHT-1700 includes the universal D impact device, a calibrated testing block and a durable carry case.
    • PHT-1740: The base instrument is identical to the PHT-1700, but this model includes the “DL” impact device, which is used to test gear teeth, grooves, and other confined applications.
    • PHT-1750:This also uses the same base instrument as the PHT-1700. This model includes the “G” impact device, which is used to test large castings and parts with rough, porous surfaces.
